Yes, it is August and I am just now writing about Christmas. Sorry!
We began the Christmas season by riding on the Polar Express.
My mom won tickets from a radio station and we were all pretty dang excited about it. When the tickets came, we discovered that they were only good for that day. So we literally grabbed coats and blankets, jumped in the van, picked my Dad up from work, and headed to Heber.
Tiegan told Santa he wanted a "Choo Choo"
Things were going great. We made it to the "North Pole." We talked to Santa. We ate hot chocolate and cookies. When it was time for the train to leave the North Pole, it didn't actually move. Seriously, we were stranded. On a train full of tired kids and no bathrooms. They had to bring in another Engine, which took an extra 45 minutes. And there was an "Elf" with a microphone who decided to take this time to sing really loud Christmas Songs. And try to make all of us dance. Lol. It definitely made for an adventure! We still loved it and want to go back next year.
Alex, Tiegan and I made a gingerbread train.
I think it turned out pretty cute!
(just don't ask why it is laying down instead of standing up)
We went to Temple Square with the Stirling's
The kids sat on Santa's lap at the ward Christmas party.
Check out Bryton's cheeks! I think she is storing nuts for the winter.
They have to be the most kissable cheeks ever.
The Stirling Christmas party was complete with a pinata this year. The kids LOVED it (so did Trent)!
Uncle Travis and a very tired Bryton.
Christmas was on a Sunday this year, and we loved being able to go to church and focus on the Savior before coming home to presents and candy.
Our stockings
I swear that we bought Bryton toys. But all she wanted to do was unload the wrapping paper from the garbage sack. It did keep her pretty entertained.
Trent finally got the hiking backpack he has been wanting.
Tiegan got the garbage truck of his dreams.
And we had dinner with the extended family.
We love spending Holidays with family :)
